Campers

So I recently got xbox live, I've been playing alot of online multiplayer. Earlier today I was playing a game and my friend happened to announce he was camping. We were playing Super Smash Brothers...what? Yeah, you can camp in SSB, but his camping turned into a single thought about the appropriateness of camping, when it is acceptable and when it is not. Here's what I have to say.

Whether you were or are camping, everyone is still going to hate you regardless of the situation you are in. Yet sometimes, it's ok, kinda...

When you are playing a game like Counter Strike or Modern Warfare, you're basically going to be forced to camp at one point or another. Stick around and pick of some enemies so you can move on by without getting yourself killed. Other games like Halo or Unreal Tournament, that is where camping is absolutely unacceptable. Unless you have a sniper rifle you're basically a total jack ass, and the true legit gamers that don't have lives (me, haha) learn to run and snipe at the same time.

Walking Advertisement

I always enjoy Christmas, not because of presents but just because it's a time where I can sit back, relax, and not do anything. Presents are always nice though, but there's something I hate about getting clothes. I will always gladly accept anything given to me, provided it's not something like a bag full of poop. I got a wonderful zip-up hoodie from Aeropostale this Christmas, nice design, comfortable, fits me just right.

There's one problem, there's a giant Aeropostale logo on it. I don't care if Aeropostale is what all the "cool" kids are wearing, I do not enjoy being a walking advertisement of companies. Is it me or has the market reversed itself? I'm paying you, the corporation swimming in money to advertise your products? Shouldn't I be paid to wear your clothes or something? I guess that's the price to pay to be "cool."

I generally wear clothes that have no logo on it, or else clothes with a very small logo that you have to go out of your way to see. One of my least favorite clothing brands in the world is American Eagle. (Though I do enjoy their khakis, they're comfy) I was there with a friend of mine not too long ago, I couldn't help but notice that their logo was printed on just about every single piece of clothing. No discretion used at all, solid blue T-Shirt with the front with an eagle on it and "American Eagle" written as large as possible on it. Lots of people wear this clothes too and it's so overpriced!

I generally don't enjoy buying clothes that was made in a sweatshop that's sold for obscene prices. Then when I go out in public basically wearing an American Eagle billboard and people who see me think, "Hey, look at all the people wearing American Eagle, there must be something great about their clothes. Let's go buy things from them." For some reason something like that just doesn't appeal to me.

Thought when I see a good deal anywhere, sweatshops, etc. will not stop me from buying something that's 70% off. Not too long ago, an Old Navy in my city was closing down and everything there was 50% off, I couldn't say no to such a great deal, I spent alot of money that day. Regardless of the savings, I still refused to be a walking advertisement and I ignored every single product that had Old Navy's logo on it. My brother called me a walking advertisement when he saw me with my new clothes, but you know. I don't really wear clothes with logos on them, unless someone went through the trouble to pull of my shirt and look at the tag.

I don't know if you want to be a marketing tool for big corporations that use sweat labor to make their products, but if you do go for it. I'm trying to get the Aeropostale logo off of this hoodie and I notice how skilled these workers are. These laborers are working so hard and fast, but they are being paid such low wages. I hate corporate America.
